Do I need a visa to travel to India?
Yes, you will need to organise your own Visa. It is very easy to complete an online 30-day tourist Visa, but please be patient as it can take a little while to complete! Please make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months as that’s a requirement for the Visa. You can apply online here: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is essential. It's there to protect in case of illness, injury, lost baggage or other unexpected events. We will ask for a copy of your policy and proof of coverage when you make your final payment. This will give you peace of mind when we hit the road.
How many people will be on the tour?
We deliberately keep our tours small with a maximum of 10 guests. This allows us to travel to smoothly as a group and allows everyone to really get to know each other intimately.
How do I book and is there a payment and cancellation policy ?
To secure your place on a LTT tour, a non-refundable deposit of £800 is required. Once we receive your deposit, we will send a booking confirmation, a registration form and our T&Cs.
Here’s how the payment schedule works:
3 months (120 days) before the tour - 50% of total tour cost.
2 months (60 days) before the tour - remaining 50% is due.
We completely understand that plans might change, but please note that cancellations must be made in writing and the following charges will apply:
Deposits are non-refundable, as this money is used to pay hotel deposits and any transport. If you cancel between 30-60 days, we will refund 50% of the total tour cost. If you cancel in under 29 days before the departure, we will not be able to refund any amount for the tour.
We strongly recommend arranging comprehensive insurance so you are covered in case of unexpected changes.
What kind of accommodation do we stay in?
We take a great pride in sourcing and curating some of the prettiest and unusual hotels in India. Some are luxurious and have character but they may not stack up to what we would view as 'luxury' throughout Europe or the US. Not everything we do is 5 star and if you are looking for high-end, glossy hotels, then we might not be for you. If you value beautiful, curated stylish retreats with atmosphere and loads of history, then you'll love our tours!
How much cash will I need for the tour?
This can vary from person to person (depending on how much you like to shop!). We recommend about £300-500 in cash which we can covert into Rupees when you arrive. Most markets only accept cash but all the boutiques etc. will take cards and there are many ATMs. Little extras might include things like refreshments, alcohol, tuk-tuks, lunches, massages, and laundry.
What about tipping?
We take £50 (5000 R) off each guest and then we organise all the larger tipping so you do not have to think about it (other than your room boys in each hotel). This has been a huge success with all our guests and means you do not have to worry about having change.
