For Textile Lovers | Explore Gujarat
Your journey begins in Ahmedabad; a city woven with stories of textiles and trade, where Stepwells and mosques stand alongside bustling bazaars. From here we travel to Patan, the home of the master weavers who create the legendary double ikat and Patola silks, each piece a tapestry of patience and precision.
The road bends westward to Bhuj, the cultural heart of Kutch. Here history meets resilience, from palaces rebuilt after earth quakes to age old craft traditions. An excursion into the Banni villages reveals a living museum of artistry - mud homes inlaid with mirrors, vivid embroideries that speak in symbols and communities whose skills transform the desert into colour and pattern.
Finally the story threads south to Muli once a princely state, now remembered as the heartland of India's cotton revolution. Here you see where Gujarat's textile story actually begins.
This is truly a treat for any textile or fashion enthusiast - Gujarat has some of the best textiles, embroideries and processes in all of India, you will leave feeling energised and inspired.

Traveller Testimonials
"As a yoga teacher, I have always dreamed of visiting India so when I saw Lisa launching her Lisa Taylor Travel tours, I just knew I had to book!
After tragically losing my soulmate last year, travelling alone to India seemed daunting (even though I have travelled alone for work and training many times!). Lisa offered an exciting opportunity to share this trip of a lifetime with like minded travellers. Her experience living and working in India proved to be invaluable and I have to say I loved every minute of the 10 day tour - I just wish it had lasted longer. My fellow travellers become immediate friends; we laughed, cried, shared and explored together and fell in love with this country of warmth, colour and vibrancy.
If you’re looking for an authentic journey through different cities, meeting wonderful people from all walks of life and tasting some of the best food ever, you just have to join one of Lisa’s trips. I will definitely be returning!"
